David Romano

A Certified Public Accountant with 23 years of experience, David oversees North Star’s tax, audit, and advisory services. David holds a master’s in professional accounting degree (MPAcc) from the University of Washington. He specializes in federal and international tax, advisory services and audit services with significant expertise in tax provisions and corporate restructuring.

David has led numerous mergers and acquisitions, tax audits, and global restructuring projects. He’s held roles such as corporate controller and tax director for a multinational, publicly traded retailer and key positions at Moss Adams and Ernst & Young. During the course of his career, he has garnered awards for technological achievement and team excellence. His professional affiliations include memberships in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Washington Society of CPAs.

David is passionate about staff development and creating lasting, authentic relationships with clients. His professional philosophy centers on empathy, respect, and personalized guidance to help clients succeed. Outside the office, David is an avid hockey fan and coach, enjoys camping with his family and is a member of Gold Creek Community Church. He’s also a grand master in the online version of the popular board game Settlers of Catan.
